Your wedding is yours
Plain language, no fine-print games. Here’s how we treat the information you trust us with.
The short version
Your wedding is yours. We collect only what we need to make wed.kiwi work for you, we never sell your data, and we never show you ads. That’s the whole philosophy — the rest is detail.
Who we are
wed.kiwi is a small independent business based in Aotearoa New Zealand. When this policy says “we”, that’s the people behind wed.kiwi — and the Privacy Act 2020 is the law we work under.
What we keep
The email address you sign in with, and the things you add while planning — your guest list, budget, running order, vendor details and any notes or ideas you save. We hold them so they’re waiting for you each time you sign in, and for no other reason. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your message so we can reply.
Your guests
When someone RSVPs, we keep just enough to pass their reply back to you — their name, their answer, and any dietaries or notes they share. Guests don’t need an account, and we don’t market to them or use their details for anything else.
Your vendors
If you share a run sheet or key details with a vendor, they see only what you choose to share, through the link you give them. We don’t contact your vendors or use their details beyond showing them to you and the people you’ve shared with.
Where your information lives
Your planning data is stored with Supabase on servers in Sydney, Australia, and the site and app are served by Cloudflare. They hold it on our behalf and can’t use it for their own purposes — it stays our responsibility under New Zealand’s Privacy Act, wherever it lives.
Who we share with
Nobody, by default. A small number of trusted providers help us run the service — hosting the database, signing you in, serving the pages — and they see only what those jobs require. We never sell your information.
Staying signed in
We don’t run ad trackers or analytics cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is what keeps you signed in, and it does nothing else.
You’re in control
You can delete your wedding at any time — delete it and it’s gone from our active systems, no quiet copies kept around. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can also ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, and we’ll sort it promptly. If you’re ever unhappy with our answer, you can raise it with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
If this policy changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date below. We’ll never quietly loosen it.
